NFL Star Jason Kelce Hints At Possible Retirement From Football
Jason Kelce, who has been in the NFL for 13 seasons and currently plays for the Philadelphia Eagles, is hinting that retirement may be around the corner.
He has had an incredible career thus far, as the Eagles’ center has been selected to the NFL Pro Bowl seven times throughout the years (this year included). He also went on to win the Super Bowl with his team in 2018.
Now, the 36-year-old is getting ready for the big playoff game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday night, but this could be the last game Jason Kelce plays if the Eagles don’t make it past the wild card round.
Jason Kelce May Be Playing His Last NFL Game
Jason, the older brother of Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, is beginning to contemplate retirement.
“Whenever you’re older in your career, you never know when that’s gonna be,” he admitted to reporters ahead of his playoff game on Monday night. “I try to remind guys, and I’ve done this, and my dad’s told me this from the moment I started playing football; You step off the curb one day and, you know, that could be the end of your career.”
“So you try and approach every game with that mindset, but obviously, the closer and the older you get to that being a realization puts it out in front maybe a little bit more,” he said.
Although retirement may be on Jason’s mind, right now he is focusing on the playoff game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which kicks off tonight, Monday, January 15.
“But obviously, that’s not the main thing,” Jason continued, “The main thing is going out there and battling with each of these guys in this locker room, no matter how many more years I play or any of us play.”
“This team right now, [may] only [have] one game left and that’s what we’re really focused on,” the 36-year-old continued.

Jason is not the only Kelce family member to discuss post-NFL life recently, as his brother, Travis, also addressed what life could look like after he is done playing football.
Retirement rumors have been surrounding the Kansas City Chiefs tight end as he previously hinted at what life could hold for him after football, however, he recently put an end to those claims, stating he has “no reason to stop playing football”.
“Man, I love it, we still have success, come in with the right mindset,” he said of the sport during a recent press conference. “I just love the challenge that it gives me every single day to try and be my best.”
“I have no desire to stop anytime soon,” he added.
Travis Kelce’s focus is currently on the NFL playoffs, as he and the Chiefs beat the Miami Dolphins in the wild-card round, advancing them to the divisional round.
