Travis Kelce is taking a break from his popular New Heights podcast amid rumors the Kansas City Chiefs icon could call time on his illustrious NFL career.

Earlier this month, Kelce was held to four catches for 39 yards in the Chiefs’ 40-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX. The defeat ended Kansas City’s hopes of becoming the first team to ever win three successive Lombardi Trophies, with Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs offense struggling against the suffocating Eagles defense.

Across the 2024 season, Kelce posted career lows in receiving yards (823) and touchdowns (3), although he did lead the Chiefs in receptions (97). The 35-year-old had insisted he was going to play in 2025, but now Kelce is pondering his options with the Chiefs giving him until March 14 to come to a decision.

With Kelce seemingly contemplating his NFL future, his podcast with brother Jason is set to skip a week in the offseason. On Tuesday, the podcast took to X to post: “No new episode this week, but WE’LL BE BACK with offseason episodes and amazing guests soon.”

Kelce must now decide whether or not to return for a 13th NFL season. He enjoyed a vintage performance in the divisional round playoff win over the Houston Texans with seven catches for 117 yards and a touchdown but was quiet in the AFC Championship Game win against the Buffalo Bills with two catches for 19 yards before struggling in the Super Bowl.Last week, Kelce spoke on New Heights about his future with the Super Bowl loss still stinging. Kelce seemed to suggest that retirement was a legitimate option, outlining: “I’ve been fortunate over the past five, six years – I’ve played more football than anybody. It’s because of the people that are in that building.
