During a CNN segment, Carville reacted to comments from Republican Congressman Mark Alford of Missouri, who acknowledged that Americans might have to pay more due to the tariffs but framed it as a necessary step to address the national debt. Alford stated, “We all have a role to play in this… if I have to pay a little bit more for something, I’m all for it.”
Carville criticized this stance, pointing out that during his campaign, Trump promised to reduce costs for consumers. He expressed disbelief at the sudden shift towards accepting higher prices, highlighting the inconsistency between campaign promises and current policies.
