Only way Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could lose their royal titles revealed

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have retained their royal titles despite stepping back from official duties in 2020. The authority to revoke these titles lies solely with the reigning monarch, currently King Charles III. However, experts suggest that such an action is unlikely, as the King hopes for eventual reconciliation with the couple.
In the past, there have been discussions among politicians about introducing legislation to strip the Sussexes of their titles. For instance, Conservative MP Bob Seely proposed a private member’s bill to amend the 1917 Titles Deprivation Act, which would allow the Privy Council to remove royal status under certain circumstances. However, this proposal did not gain significant traction, and opposition leaders, such as Keir Starmer, have expressed that politicians should not intervene in royal matters.
Therefore, unless King Charles III decides otherwise, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will continue to hold their titles as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
