Meghan Markle ‘schooled over’ major mistake that flopped Netflix show

Meghan Markle’s recent Netflix series, “With Love, Meghan,” has encountered significant criticism from media experts and reviewers, highlighting challenges in its reception and authenticity.

Former Vanity Fair editor Tina Brown criticized the series for promoting “fake perfection” during a time when audiences are moving away from such ideals. She suggested that Markle lacks a convincing persona and is merely attempting to follow popular trends, positioning her as behind the curve. Brown also criticized the series’ opening scene and questioned Markle’s decisions in recent years, particularly her and Prince Harry’s departure from royal duties in the UK.

Experts have also noted that the show lacks the authenticity found in the works of lifestyle figures like Martha Stewart and Rachael Ray. PR specialist Doug Eldridge highlighted that authenticity is crucial for relatability and likability, elements perceived as missing in Markle’s show. Critics also pointed out that filming took place at a rental property instead of Markle’s home, adding to the perceived lack of genuineness.

The series has faced harsh reviews from major industry publications, with a low 20% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Despite a confirmed second season, the negative feedback has raised concerns about the future of Meghan and Prince Harry’s Netflix deal, especially given Netflix’s investment in Markle’s lifestyle brand, As Ever.

This situation underscores the importance of authenticity and audience connection in lifestyle programming. As Meghan Markle navigates her role in the media landscape, addressing these critiques may be essential for future success.
