Meghan Markle’s Netflix Show critics receive death threats

Celebrity chef Jameson Stocks has reported receiving numerous death threats following his public criticism of Meghan Markle’s Netflix series, With Love, Meghan. Stocks described the show as “terrible,” “lethargic,” and “painful to watch,” suggesting that Markle might consider returning to acting.

Stocks emphasized that his critiques were directed solely at the show’s content, not Markle personally. He expressed surprise at the severity of the backlash, stating, “I’ve not gone in on somebody personally here because that’s something I do not do and would not do. All of a sudden, I’m getting death threats on me.”

The chef also recounted a prior interaction with Netflix executives in early 2024, where he was informally approached about consulting on a lifestyle program, which he believed to be Markle’s upcoming show. Stocks declined the opportunity, feeling that his involvement might come across as “forced and fake.” However, a Netflix production source refuted this account, stating that With Love, Meghan was not in development at that time and that Stocks was never formally invited to participate.

Despite the mixed reviews and controversies, With Love, Meghan debuted in Netflix’s Top 10 globally and has been renewed for a second season, with production already completed. Markle and Prince Harry continue their collaboration with Netflix under a $100 million deal, producing various docuseries since stepping back from royal duties.
