She sings, she plays guitar, and she loves cats. If that doesn’t sound like the perfect human to you then we don’t know what does. Taylor Swift’s life has been in the public eye for the most part, but her three cats have always received a significant amount of limelight. Here, we get to know Meredith Grey, Olivia Benson, and Benjamin Button a little closer.

After Taylor Swift appeared on the cover of Time as Person of the Year last year, she was in the company of one of her cats. The reaction to this went viral, with cat lovers and Taylor Swift fans alike making jokes about about the star’s close connection to her feline friend:

Time Magazine: We’d like to name you Person of the Yea-
Taylor Swift: Can I bring my cat.

It really showed how much her cats mean to her. Here we introduce you to each of Taylor Swift’s three cats: Meredith Grey, Olivia Benson, and Benjamin Button.

Meredith Grey

Meredith Grey is the oldest sister of the three cats that Taylor adopted in 2011. This Scottish Fold is named after the character from Taylor’s favourite television show, Grey’s Anatomy. The singer once described Meredith Grey as being a very good companion as she’s not afraid of people and is never aggressive. In spite of that statement, Taylor explicitly told the world that her little feline actually loathes having her picture taken.

Aside from several social media posts, Meredith also stars in Taylor’s 2019 music video “ME!” alongside her other cat, Olivia Benson.

Olivia Benson

Olivia Benson is the Wednesday child adopted by Taylor in June 2014. Reportedly, this Scottish Fold has a higher accumulated net worth than that of the superstar’s lover, Travis Kelce. She appeared in the music videos for “ME!” on the couch, chilling with Meredith, and in “Karma” laying there sleeping, looking giant and beautiful.

Benjamin Button

The newest, youngest furball addition to Taylor Swift cat family is Benjamin Button. He was adopted straight on the set of her “ME!” music video. As caught on camera, he was described as a “purr box” and purred in her arms a lot. Later he would make his most prominent appearance on the Time magazine cover for 2023’s Person of the Year.
