Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift on-field kiss punctuates Chiefs’ trip to Super Bowl 58
Taylor Swift is headed to the Super Bowl. (Probably.)
While Swift’s presence around the NFL has proved controversial to some, there’s no doubt she brings star power.
Swift’s football legacy reached a fever pitch on Sunday, as the Chiefs — and her boyfriend Travis Kelce — clinched a spot in the league’s title game for the fourth time in five seasons.
Kelce excelled for Kansas City in the 17-10 AFC championship win, catching 11 passes for 116 yards and a touchdown against the Ravens’ harrowing defense.
Once the Chiefs secured the victory, Swift — who shined in the M&T Bank Stadium box suite, dancing, laughing and clapping as Kelce ripped Baltimore’s secondary to shreds — made her way down to field level. She soon greeted Kelce with an embrace and a kiss, one that sent shockwaves across a certain subsection of social media.
Check out the smooch that shook the world here:
Swift earned plaudits not just from her partner but also Kansas City head coach Andy Reid, with the latter firing an all-knowing point at his team’s uber-famous fan.
Much like 2023, 2024 is shaping up to be the year of Swift. And NFL fans have to get used to it.
Now, just one question remains:
Will Taylor Swift go to the Super Bowl?
Swift finds herself in a curious position ahead of Kelce’s biggest game since…last February.
With the 2024 leg of her Eras Tour starting on Feb. 7 in Tokyo, Swift’s calendar just got a whole lot busier. She’s slated to have shows every day from Feb. 7 through Feb. 10, then will have a six-day reprieve before heading out to Melbourne to start the next portion of her world tour.
Super Bowl 58 is scheduled to kickoff at 6:30 p.m. ET (3:30 p.m. local time) on Sunday, Feb. 11. That leaves Swift with precious few hours to get back to the U.S. to cheer on Kelce.
All hope is not lost, however. Tokyo’s time zone is 17 hours ahead of Las Vegas. Even if her show in Japan were to stretch into the wee hours of the morning on Sunday, Feb. 11, she’d be finishing around Saturday morning in Las Vegas. So Swift could theoretically make it back to Sin City in time for the big game.
