Jason Kelce Terms NFL “foolish” Over Taylor Swift’s Appearances at Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs Matches
Taylor Swift has dominated billboard charts and streaming lists for years. However, she recently ended up taking over the NFL, along with her boyfriend and Kansas City Chiefs tight end, Travis Kelce. While it seemed to work in the favor of the sporting league and the team, not all football fans were amused. Although the outrage at the pop sensation’s appearance was unexpected, Jason Kelce was just added to the mix.
After the Chiefs coach and Kelce himself shared their thoughts about Swift supporting her superstar boyfriend from the stands, the athlete’s older brother ended up giving the world his two cents on the matter.
Jason Kelce shares his opinion on the Taylor Swift/NFL outrage
In a recent interview with ABC’s WCPO, Jason Kelce was asked about the NFL’s “attention” toward Taylor Swift, his brother, Travis Kelce’s girlfriend. The 36-year-old said that “the NFL would be foolish not to show” the singer. While the older brother had kept his opinions to himself all this time, he finally opened up. He said that it was there because “the audience wanted to see it.”
The 36-year-old chuckled and continued, “If people didn’t want to see it, they wouldn’t be showing it.” While that might be true for Swifties, football fans are not too pleased. After the outrage gained attention online, it was shortly revealed how long Swift’s appearances on the screen at NFL matches lasted. With so much backlash, the non-sporting world must have thought the ‘Mine’ singer was taking over the game.
However, some analysis that was done on Swift’s appearances at Travis Kelce’s Chiefs game proved that to be far from the actual case.
How often is Taylor Swift shown at Travis Kelce’s NFL games?
According to reports from the New York Times, it was revealed that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s relationship had taken over social media. However, TV broadcasts were not focusing on it as much as the NFL fans would have the world believe. It was proved that the ‘Mean’ singer normally ended up being on screen for less than 25 seconds throughout every match.
With each NFL match lasting up to 3 hours or more, Swift was not even seen for a quarter of an hour. While she did get a rare mention or nuptial prediction from Tony Romo, it looks like football fans are just not happy with the fact that the singer and her Swifties are taking over their beloved sport.
