Taylor Swift confesses she wrote ‘Folklore’ as a ‘lonely millennial woman’: ‘I was imagining…’
Known for maintaining a notoriously private front, Taylor Swift is currently in her ‘Speak Now’ era. During her latest concert as part of her world-dominating The Eras Tour, the pop sensation told fans that she felt ‘lonely’ when she wrote her eighth studio album, ‘Folklore’. Notably, Taylor was dating English actor Joe Alwyn when she penned her Grammy-winning album.
‘Lonely millennial woman’
According to a Page Six report, the singer, while performing a set during her Melbourne show on Saturday night, confessed that she wrote her Grammy-winning album ‘Folklore’ as a ‘lonely millennial woman’. “[I was] imagining that, instead of being a lonely millennial woman covered in cat hair drinking my weight in white wine, I was a ghostly Victorian lady wandering through the woods with a candle in a candlestick holder, and I wrote only on parchment with a feathered quill,” she said.
“That was in my mind—what I thought I looked like writing folklore. That is not what I looked like. So that’s all that matters—the delusion,” she concluded.
Taylor and Joe’s relationship
Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn dated for six years. The former couple broke up in early 2023, after six years together, right around the time Swift began the Eras Tour.
Swift’s new flame
The ‘Lover’ crooner has been dating NFL star Travis Kelce since last summer. Swift has been present during most of the Kansas City Chiefs games ever since they made their relationship official. She also brought her lady luck to the Super Bowl, in which the Chiefs secured a historic win.
On the music front, Taylor will drop her new album, ‘The Toruted Poets Department’, on April 19, 2024.
