And she left a hefty tip to prove it.

In case you hadn’t heard, Taylor Swift has landed Down Under for the Australian leg of her Eras Tour and on Tuesday night she stunned Sydney diners by popping out for a casual dinner at Pellegrino 2000.

The Surry Hills restaurant has well and truly earned its stripes, winning fans for its exceptional Italian trattoria-style dishes and welcoming vibe, even taking out the top spot in the delicious. 100 in 2022. Evidently, Pellegrino’s reputation precedes it, with even the biggest popstar in the world getting wind of it.

Rather than booking out the entire venue, Swift and her support act Sabrina Carpenter sat alongside other guests while enjoying their dinner.

Swift and Carpenter enjoyed a meal of focaccia, olives, pasta dishes, sides, and wine – the bill landing at around $620. For their efforts, the Pellegrino team also earned a whopping $300 tip.

Good news travels fast and word quickly spread to local Swifties and press who eagerly waited outside for a glimpse of the record-breaking singer as she exited the venue later in the evening.

Pellegrino 2000 opened in 2022 to great reception. One of a handful of restaurants by hospitality trio Daniel Pepperell, Michael Clift, and Andy Tyson, the former Bar H space has become a haunt for Sydneysiders (and international musicians) looking for great wine, beautiful food and warm hospitality.

Swift’s choice of restaurant is also a huge coup for the Pellegrino crew. While celebs are frequently spotted at high-end Sydney venues like Mimi’s, Icebergs, and Jonah’s, the comparatively casual and affordable venue is a refreshing change of pace. Good luck getting a reservation any time soon.

Interestingly, the mega-star flew entirely under the radar during her stint in Melbourne over the weekend prompting speculation about where else we might see Swift surfacing around the country.
