Travis Kelce Broke Down Crying During Jason Kelce’s Emotional Retirement Speech
“It was really my brother and I our whole lives.”
Jason Kelce has officially confirmed that he’s retiring from the NFL, making the emotional announcement during a press conference in Philadelphia.
After giving a lengthy speech to the crowd, Jason said “So this all brings us here to today, where I announce that I am retiring. Where I announce I am retiring from the NFL after 13 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles and today, I must admit, I am officially overrated, vastly overrated.”
He added, “It took a lot of hard work and determination getting here. I have been the underdog my entire career, and I mean this when I say it: I wish I still was.” He went on to thank his teammates as well as his family—including Travis Kelce who was in the crowd and visibly emotional.
Jason also shouted out Travis in the speech, saying “we have a small family, no cousins, one aunt and one uncle, it was really my brother and I our whole lives. We did almost everything together, competed, fought, laughed, cried, and learned from each other.”
