Woman who planned to sell Taylor Swift signed guitar to help pay for her wedding encouraged by Swifties to start GoFundMe instead
A woman who planned on selling her Taylor Swift signed guitar to help pay for her wedding said fans were against the sale and kindly encouraged her to start a GoFundMe instead.
Emily Harris, a board certified behavior analyst specializing in non speaking children and teens with autism, and her fiancé Jake McDaniel who works with high schoolers as an athletic trainer through our local hospital, have been engaged since April and plan to celebrate in November.
Harris was going to sell the guitar for help with the wedding expenses, she said on the GoFundMe page. However, Swifties are encouraging her to keep it and start a GoFundMe for their big day instead.
She posted the following statement to the page:
“I was going to sell my signed Taylor Swift guitar to help pay for my upcoming wedding. However, some very nice and hardcore Swifties are against the sale, and asked us to start this Go Fund Me instead.
We are so excited to celebrate together this November, and in order to make sure our family and friends can be together with us, there are expenses that continue creeping up. I was hoping to find someone who would benefit from this signed guitar as much as I can use the sale to pay for our wedding. Countless fans told me to start a Go Fund Me instead, so here we are!
This is a very, very kind suggestion and we will definitely pay it forward when we can.
A little about us: My name is Emily Harris. I am a board certified behavior analyst specializing in non speaking children and teens with autism. My fiancé is Jake McDaniel, and he works with high schoolers as an athletic trainer through our local hospital. We have been engaged since last April, and have been actively planning our wedding ever since I said “Yes!”
Thanks to everyone who suggested we put this together!”
