Actor says he received football tips from Taylor Swift at Chiefs playoff game Kansas City Star
Jason Kelce garnered quite a bit of attention for his shirtless celebration during the Chiefs’ 27-24 road victory over the Bills in January’s AFC Divisional playoff game.
Kelce was in a luxury suite at Highmark Stadium with his wife, Kylie, parents Ed and Donna Kelce, and his brother Travis’ girlfriend, superstar singer Taylor Swift. Actress Cara Delevingne and Swift’s friend Ashley Avignone also were part of Swift’s entourage.
During an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Wednesday night, comedian/actor Jerrod Carmichael said he was at the game, too, after being invited by Swift.
“That’s my best friend,” Carmichael said. “Taylor Swift is my best friend. But I’m not her best friend, but she is my best friend. Can you think of a better friend to have than Taylor Swift?”
Carmichael added: “She’s very smart and interesting.”
Swift’s father played college football and she grew up as an Eagles fan in Pennsylvania. Chiefs coach Andy Reid, who previously worked in Philadelphia, said he’s known Swift since she was a little girl.
While Swift is into football, Carmichael apparently is not a big fan of sport.
“She knows more about football than I do,” he admitted.
Kimmel inquired of Carmichael: “Did you ask questions about football?”
“Yeah, I’m the girlfriend in that situation,” Carmichael joked.
That game in Buffalo wasn’t the only time Carmichael has been on hand to watch the Chiefs. He was also at KC’s 27-17 win over the Patriots in Foxborough in December.
