Speculation mounts around how Taylor Swift chooses one lucky fan to meet and gift her hat to during Australian Eras tour
One of the trademark moments of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concert is when she performs her hit song ’22’ and meets one lucky fan.The megastar even gifts the fortunate Swiftie her classic black fedora hat.
But how is that one lucky individual chosen?
The singer has never explained the mystery behind the moment, but fans have speculated her mother, Andrea, searches for one die-hard fan during the show.
However, one Swiftie’s lucky moment did not seem coincidental. New Zealand TikToker Oliver Mills was hand picked for the Saturday night show in Melbourne. Oliver has previously published several Taylor Swift related videos to his social media, leading fans to suggest the New Zealander’s moment was pre-arranged.
TikTok star Mikael Arellano also scored the fedora at one of the star’s concerts having previously uploaded Eras Tour content.
So could you be the lucky fan to meet the global megastar? According to the Sydney Morning Herald, throughout Swift’s 53 shows in the US, 29 young girls were given the hat in comparison to what appeared to be 12 girls aged over 16.
Only 12 boys scored the fedora.
The outlet suggested fans are more likely to be selected if they are on the ground floor or situated in arena seating.
