Travis Kelce’s shocking campaign promises: Is Joe Biden’s nomination as the Democratic candidate at risk?

It’s not easy to imagine anyone voting for Travis Kelce for president of the United States. However, in the very unlikely event that he reaches the White House, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end is very clear about what one of his first executive orders would be

This past May 31, the Chiefs visited the White House for the second consecutive year, invited by President Joe Biden to celebrate their victory in Super Bowl LVIII. Kelce, Patrick Mahomes, Andy Reid, Isaiah Pacheco, George Karlaftis, and the entire team once again enjoyed presidential hospitality.

During the visit, the Chiefs’ PR department asked several of the players what they would do if they were the president of the United States. The answers varied, but one of the most surprising was that of Travis Kelce, who did not hesitate to share presidential power with the rest of the team.

Kelce as president
In a video posted on the Chiefs TikTok account, Kelce assured that if he were president, “I would take Air Force to Hawaii” and said he would take “The Squad. Hopefully, we can all fit. I think we could all fit on there.” Kelce was talking about the famous Air Force One, the plane that the president of the United States uses on their work tours.

A little more measured but just as joking, Karlaftis settled for a family visit. “My family’s over in Greece man, you know, half my family. So I’d fly them over and just enjoy the White House. Maybe run around, they have a golf course out there,” the defensive end explained.

With these campaign promises, Kelce is assured of at least 52 votes. However, it seems unlikely that anyone else would want to give him his vote in a hypothetical election.

Another memorable moment from Kansas City’s most recent visit to the White House was when President Biden invited Kelce to the presidential podium. Last year, on their first visit, the tight end tried to take over the podium when everyone else was distracted, but a joking Mahomes removed him from the spot before he could say more than a sentence.

Biden did not waste this new opportunity, and at the time of the speeches, he said, “I’d have Travis come up here, but God only knows what he’d say. Travis, come here, it’s all yours, pal.”

Given his past issues with the Secret Service, Kelce abbreviated his presence at the podium. “My fellow Americans, it’s nice to see you all yet again. I’m not going to lie. President Biden, they told me if I came up here, I’d get tased. I’m going to go back to my spot, all right?”

The Chiefs’ visits to the White House have been moments to enjoy and celebrate amidst jokes and a festive atmosphere. This time was no different, and Kelce made sure not to go unnoticed and, in the process, make the visit more enjoyable.
