Angel Reese launches Reebok collaboration as WNBA star stuns in new photoshoot
Chicago Sky star Angel Reese has launched a collection with her shoe sponsor, Reebok – making her the first rookie from this year’s class to launch a product with an athletic brand.
The collection includes three pairs of shoes – including a friends and family exclusive pair – as well as plenty of apparel items.
Products in the collection have been made available for purchase as of the date of the launch on Friday.
‘She is fantastic and she is a girl’s girl. She loves fashion,’ Reebok senior vice president of product Portia Blunt told CBS Sports.
‘Collaborating with her is a little different than when we collaborate with other athletes because she has such a strong point of view. She knows who she is. She knows what she likes and she wants to bring that to life.
… She came to work every day ready to design and really contribute to this collection because she really wanted to have her stamp on it as much as possible.’
‘I am honored to unveil my first collection with Reebok, and worked hand in hand with the brand to ensure each and every piece is designed to elicit confidence and expression,’ Reese said according to the Reebok website.
‘I wanted to create a collection that allowed women and girls everywhere to embrace their femininity and power in whatever they’re doing. This collection is for HER to be stylish and fierce on all occasions.’
In addition to the icy green, blue and chrome color palate, a common theme among the apparel is the phrase ‘When they sleep on you… tuck them in’.
That quote appears on the inside of the shoes in the collection as well as on the back of a t-shirt.
In addition, the line includes a body suit, a track jacket, a bralette, a dress, bike shorts, leggings, and wide leg pants.
Earlier this week, Reese launched a collaboration with the candy company Reese’s Pieces – putting out a collection of t-shirts, hats, hoodies, and jerseys.
It’s just the latest development for the rookie – who has been locked in a heated battle for the honor of being named the best first-year player with Caitlin Clark.
Reese established herself as a massive star and personality while in college at LSU, and scored deals with the likes of Beats by Dre, Reebok and Airbnb.
Clark, meanwhile, achieved national fame as well and has scored many lucrative deals too, including with State Farm, Gatorade and Nike.
Reese and Clark will face off for a fourth time this season when the Fever visit the Sky on August 30.
That game has been promoted as ‘Barbie Night’ – in collaboration with Mattel – by the Sky in a nod to their ‘Bayou Barbie’ Reese.
