Can you bet on Taylor Swift in Super Bowl 58? DraftKings offers themed props on Travis Kelce’s girlfriend

While sportsbooks are not permitted in most states to offer betting markets on events that occur off the field of play — such as “Will Travis Kelce propose to Taylor Swift after the Super Bowl” — DraftKings is getting pretty creative to bring Swifties into the Super Bowl betting mix.

In the Super Bowl section on its app and website, DraftKings presents a dedicated tab, unsubtly titled “For the Swifties”, where prop bets named after Taylor Swift songs are offered for Sunday’s 49ers vs. Chiefs Super Bowl.

What Taylor Swift-ish Super Bowl bets is DraftKings offering?
Let’s hand it to DraftKings. The oddsmakers and marketing team came up with some fun ways for Swift fans to get involved by attaching song titles to approved, on-field Super Bowl props.

We particularly like the props that involve Kelce himself, such as: “How You Get the Girl: T. Kelce to Score a TD in Each Half”. That bet pays off at +1000 (10-to-1 odds).

Here is a partial list of Taylor Swift-themed props offered for the wagering pleasure of the legions of Swift fans sure to tune in to watch her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, and the obligatory honey shots of the megastar following big plays made by the Chiefs tight end:

How to read Taylor Swift Super Bowl odds
If you are new to sports betting, understanding the odds may be confusing. Here’s a quick primer:

The odds presented above are based on $100 bets. If there is a “+” in front of the number, that’s how much money you could win if you risk $100. If there is a “-” in front of the number, that’s the amount you have to risk in order to make a $100 profit.

For example, the “Anti-Hero” bet pays at +200 odds. This means that if you bet $100 on 49ers QB Brock Purdy to pass for at least 250 yards AND two TDs, you’d make a $200 profit (you’d also receive the $100 stake back, so the total payout would be $300).

“Fifteen” is priced at -140, so you would need to risk $140 to make $100 ($240 total payout) when betting on Patrick Mahomes to rush for at least 15 yards AND pass for at least 215.

A bit of odds analysis on DraftKings’ Taylor Swift Super Bowl bets
We’re all for the impact that the Kelce-Swift relationship has had on the NFL this season, and if it shows more people how to enjoy sports betting responsibly, that’s great, too. We do caution Swifties, and any other bettor for that matter, to be prudent when betting into these, or any, markets offered by sportsbooks.

Trust us when we say these lines are priced heavily in the sportsbook’s favor. This is especially true when the book offers only the “yes” and does not allow you to wager on the outcome NOT occurring. You’re extremely unlikely to win over the long term on these types of bets.

But if you’d like to dabble by putting a few dollars on the game and believe that the action may enhance your Super Bowl experience, have at it! We’ll surely have a little skin in Sunday’s game as well.
