Donna Kelce and Taylor Swift Team Up Again to Root for Travis Kelce at Chiefs vs. Bills Game in New York
Travis’ two biggest fans were in the house on Sunday, cheering him on at Highmark Stadium
Taylor Swift and Donna Kelce are joining forces again to cheer on Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs as the team takes on the Buffalo Bills Sunday.
Swift, 34, and Kelce, also 34, went public with their relationship in 2023 near the start of this NFL season, and since then the “Love Story” singer has regularly come to watch him play, sitting alongside his mother Donna, father Ed Kelce and other players’ family members and friends.
At Highmark Stadium on Jan. 21, Donna’s other son, Jason Kelce, and his wife Kylie Kelce showed up to support Travis, now that Jason’s Philadelphia Eagles were eliminated from the playoffs on Jan. 15.
Donna, who was named one of PEOPLE’s 25 Most Intriguing People of the Year in December, said it’s been surreal getting to know Swift.
“It’s been a ride. That’s for sure,” Donna, 71, said in November. “Sometimes I feel I’m on some kind of a different planet. I’m like, ‘What has my life become?‘ ”
The retired banking executive and grandmother of three “likes Taylor and thinks she’s very sweet and down to earth,” a source close to the family told PEOPLE last year.
Last week, Swift and Donna braved the sub-freezing temperatures to see Kelce help lead Kansas City past the Miami Dolphins with seven catches for 71 yards.
Kelce led the Chiefs’ receiving core throughout the regular season with 984 yards on 93 catches. But it wasn’t Kelce’s performance on the field that got fans talking this season, as his budding romance with Swift became the talk of the league.
Announcers, players and even coaches from around the league all weighed in on Swift and Kelce’s relationship throughout the season – so much so that the league began to receive pushback for showing Swift so many times on camera every time the Chiefs played, at times from Kelce himself.
Kelce admitted he had “never dated anyone with that kind of aura about them” during an interview with WSJ Magazine.
“But at the same time, I’m not running away from any of it,” he told the outlet. “The scrutiny she gets, how much she has a magnifying glass on her, every single day, paparazzi outside her house, outside every restaurant she goes to, after every flight she gets off, and she’s just living, enjoying life.”
The Chiefs tight end and his NFL brother, Jason Kelce, were on the cover of this week’s PEOPLE, and a source told the magazine that Kelce and Swift are “really happy and having a lot of fun together but they’re still seeing where it goes.”
