Eamonn Holmes didn’t hold back as he gave his verdict on the relationship of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry four years after they quit their senior royal working duties
Eamonn Holmes has hit out at Meghan Markle and Prince Harry in a brutal four word swipe.
The former This Morning host, 64, didn’t hold back on his thoughts in a savage on-air rant. Speaking on GB News, Eamonn claimed the Duchess of Sussex was “the problem” in the pari’s relationship as he urged the duo to “stop spending the money”.
As the panel discussed the Sussex’s move to California four years ago, Eamonn said he can image the Duke faced a culture shock at his new surroundings. He told co-host Isabel Webster: “This is a kid that has grown up in castles, went to Eton college, holidayed walking across British country estates, on horseback, playing polo. There isn’t an awful lot of that that happens in California.”
After the panel mocked Harry saying he had only recently learned how to pay his phone bill and is currently worrying about how to pay the mortgage on the pair’s lavish Montecito home while also being embroiled in a security cost battle, Eamonn bluntly said “I’ve got a suggestion, stop spending the money then. It’s as simple as that.”
He then issued a brash four word comment on their financial situation. Speaking of former Suits star Meghan, Eamonn asked: “Is she the problem?”
While questioning the couple, Eamonn is currently facing his own relationship woes. The presenter recently announced his split from wife Ruth Langsford. The pair had been married for 14 years before calling it quits in May.
Loose Woman star Ruth, also 64, is set to spill all on the split as she returns to the talk show next week. She has been absent from the lunch time panel since April. A source has revealed that while returning to the show be incredibly emotional for Ruth, her professional nature means she is fully aware that she can’t return to television without addressing her three-month absence.
An insider told MailOnline: “Ruth knows the viewers are heavily invested in her breakup so she will be addressing her and Eamonn for the first time on the show. The audience has been there through the highs and the lows of her relationship, she has always been very open and honest and next week will be no different… she owes it to the viewers to say something.
“She will be surrounded by the people she’s closest to on the show and then will be drawing a line under it… she has no plans to do a big interview, this will be the one and only time she speaks.”
