The NFL and college football season has entered its annual hiatus, with no games until late August. Free agency begins on March 12, providing clarity for teams for the draft. Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is also facing tough times this offseason. Kelce, who has one year remaining on a $17.5 million contract, is exploring opportunities outside of football, particularly in Hollywood. The Chiefs are weighing their options for Kelce, who has had his least productive season in terms of yards and touchdowns since his rookie year

Travis Kelce, a rising star in the entertainment industry, is set to make his theatrical debut in Happy Gilmore 2, the sequel to Adam Adam Sandler’s 1996 cult classic. Sandler, a comedy legend, praised Kelce as “funny as hell” and revealed that he was considered for a role early on in the scripting process. The trailer suggests he will play a waiter, cementing his growing presence in the entertainment world.
During the “Saturday Night Live” 50th anniversary celebration on Sunday night, Sandler spoke with reporters and was asked to rate Kelce’s performance in the new movie. “A 12,” he exclaimed “Funny as hell, funny as hell! No kidding, unbelievable,” Sandler added.
The first trailer for “Happy Gilmore 2″ was released in December, featuring Kelce in an appearance. In an August episode of the New Heights podcast, Sandler revealed a different perspective on Kelce’s role for the Chiefs tight end. “We were talking about you playing my son while we were writing it, literally, like six months ago,” Sandler said. “We were like, imagine if Travis was my first baby, how funny that would be. Just a badass.”
Due to the football season being the time commitment, they found another option and Sandler provided a sneak preview of Kelce’s upcoming work. “Travis, we’re gonna have fun, because the scene you’re doing is with so many great golfers,” Sandler added. “It’s gonna be amazing. You’re gonna be funny as hell.
Sandler added, “The movie itself, it just picks up from an older guy who’s played golf a long time. Some stuff goes on in his life. He’s different. Things are, he’s a bit of a mess when you meet Happy and then we kind of try to get his his life cooking again.”
