It has been claimed that Kadarius Toney has moved. Numerous sources state that the mysterious wide receiver, who formerly played for the New York Giants and Kansas City Chiefs, has signed to terms with the Cleveland Browns. Toney will join Cleveland’s practice squad, according to Ian Rapoport, “to work his way back and ease in.”

Additionally, Rapoport said on Twitter/X that Toney had visited the Seattle Seahawks in the past and “had others lined up” before joining Cleveland

After being selected by the Giants in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft, Toney will be playing for his third team, Cleveland. Toney was acquired by the Chiefs from New York in October 2022 in return for a third- and sixth-round draft pick in 2023.

For the Chiefs, Toney appeared in 20 games during the regular season. He had 41 receptions for 340 yards and three touchdowns in addition to 16 rushes for 90 yards and one touchdown on the ground. One of Toney’s greatest moments in Kansas City will always be his Super Bowl punt return and touchdown.

Toney’s time in Kansas City was characterized by on-field highlights, mental errors, drops, and off-field tension despite some injuries. In August, the 2024 cutdown deadline drew nearer, and it seemed like Toney’s time with the Chiefs was running out. The squad let Toney go when the 53-man roster was about to be finalized.

Jordan Foote of Kansas City Chiefs On SI gave his thoughts on Toney’s last season as a Chief after the player was dismissed.

The 2023-24 campaign saw no such luck for Toney,” Foote writes. “His knee injury kept him out of training camp for nearly the whole season, but he was back in the starting lineup for Week 1. He was no longer in the starting lineup and caught just 27 passes for 169 yards and one touchdown in the regular season. Toney’s tape quality was poor, as seen by his 66.7 passer rating when thrown to and 4.4 yards per target.”
