The Australian leg of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour has sparked a frenzy, with massive crowds and touching fan interactions.

Excitement was peaking early.

Soon, perhaps, it will be less common in Sydney to be without a Taylor Swift shirt than with one.

The crowd at the Olympic Park merchandising tent built up early on Saturday.

And this is only night two!

Fans getting ready to head to Sydney’s second night of the Era’s tour have been told to avoid driving if possible and plan ahead, as over 80,000 fans are expected to travel to Olympic Park this afternoon.

Sydney Live traffic, the official traffic monitoring body, put a warning out to fans who were thinking about driving a Getaway Car to and from Accor stadium tonight.

“If you haven’t pre-booked parking, don’t drive, take public transport & get to Accor Stadium early,” they said.

“Travel included in your tix. If ur driving, allow plenty of extra travel time, traffic will be heavy.”

The T7 Train line also had a similar message to fans, encouraging them to board the “Tay Tay Express.”

“Round 2 of the #SydneyTSTheErasTour is today, so be sure to plan ahead for tonight,” Transport NSW said on X, formerly Twitter.

It confirmed last night that express trains are running to and from Sydney Olympic Park.

Four express trains will run from Central Station to Olympic Park, starting at 3.29pm.

Trains will then run every five to eight minutes from 4.23pm, stopping at Redfern and Strathfield along the way.

The aftermath – fans leave after Friday’s concert.

Swifties gathered in their thousands outside Sydney’s Accor Stadium.

Fan dress-ups have been a hallmark of Swift’s Eras Tour concerts.

Swift is playing four shows in Sydney after three in Melbourne.

Rita Ora attended the show with husband, New Zealand director Taika Waititi.

They went backstage before the concert, taking a photo with the woman of the hour, which was later shared on social media by the British singer.

“It’s fair to say Sydney always delivers – Or shall we say our TayTay @taylorswift always delivers,” Ora captioned the post.

“Thank you for having us!”

Katy Perry also met with Swift backstage at Accor Stadium and shared a photo on social media, proving no Bad Blood remains between the pair.

“Got to see an old friend shine tonight,” she captured the post.

There was a really sweet moment during the show on Friday, February 23.

Swift met with nine-year-old fan Scarlett who, according to posts on social media, has been diagnosed with a rare brain tumour and been given only months to live.

After Scarlett’s parents started a social media campaign to get their daughter the “22 hat” – a part of the concert where Swift gives her hat to one lucky audience member each night – the plea went viral, with people sharing and re-posting it.

And it seems like Swift and her team heard the call, with the Perth girl taken to the stage, where the singer gave her a hug and kissed her hand after a short chat.

After Sabrina Carpenter gave up her warm-up act due to the weather delays for the February 23 Sydney show, Swift brought her out on stage during the acoustic set.

Swift labelled it “a crime” that the crowd had missed out on Carpenter’s set, delighting fans with a performance together instead.

“My incredibly talented, wonderful, gorgeous, hilarious, genius opening act Sabrina Carpenter,” Swift said, welcoming the singer on stage.

Swift explained the song White Horse, from her album Fearless, is one that was important to Carpenter as a kid, so that’s why they chose it to sing.

Sitting at the piano together, eager fans noticed the performance was actually a medley with Coney Island.

The pair, who had gone out to dinner in Sydney together earlier in the week, shared many hugs and sweet moments on-stage.

After Melbourne was treated to an update to her upcoming The Tortured Poets Department album, the fun arrived interstate and yet another album variation was announced during the Sydney concert.

The third album cover was unveiled and a new bonus track called The Albatross was announced.

Swift kicked off her 1989 Era in a beaded pink two-piece ensemble.

The set featured plenty of the singer’s biggest hits – but there was one in particular fans were interested to see if it would be performed or not, and that was Bad Blood.

The album – originally released in 2014 – featured the hit track, which was reportedly written about a feud with Katy Perry, who was in the crowd on Friday night.
