Travis Kelce’s Super Bowl LIX heartache was compounded by his brother Jason’s revelation of a costly casino visit before the big game.

The Kansas City Chiefs star, 35, is reeling from the 40-22 defeat earlier this month, which might mark the end of his illustrious career. The three-time Super Bowl champ, now a free agent, has been vocal about considering retirement after a 12-season NFL stint.

Before the NFL showdown in New Orleans, he was joined by his older brother Jason Kelce, who came to witness the battle between his former team and the side represented by his sibling. Reflecting on what he got up to before and after the Super Bowl, the ex-center mentioned attending a ‘New Heights’ bash and a Chris Stapleton gig.

However, it was a gambling spree that hit him hard. On the podcast, the 37-year-old admitted: “Outside of that I just lost all my money at the casino. Casino’s right next door and because I won so much money last year at Las Vegas (where the Super Bowl was held in 2024), I thought, ‘hey, we’ll just keep this rolling, this will be great.’ Yup, didn’t work this time.”

Famed for his candid nature, Jason recently shared that he avoids casinos because it feels like just “handing them money” but an encounter at the Craps table with another player sparked his ire. While recounting the tale to Travis, Jason expressed his frustration: “I’m sitting there playing Craps. This (expletive) dude is sitting down playing the ‘don’t pass’ line, killing it. Just killing it… I want to kill this guy so bad.”

Jason described his casino experience as more humiliating than the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl loss, reports the Mirror US.

He told Travis: “To be honest, that was a bigger bloodbath than the game was. I know you’re frustrated with the Eagles-Chiefs game. The Craps table with Jason Kelce vs this guy, it was even more embarrassing.”

Still recovering from the Super Bowl defeat, the tight end’s reaction highlighted the lingering sting of the loss: “I don’t know if it could get more embarrassing than that.”

As for Travis’ football future, the Chiefs are reportedly keen for him to play on, but with less central role, according to Nate Taylor of The Athletic.

“He might have less of an actual impact in winning and losing than he’s ever had before. That has to be the case,” Taylor said on KCSN’s Only Weird Games. “The Chiefs are gonna try very hard in ten days’ time to convince him that next season will be different for him.”
