Jennifer Lopez Files for Divorce from Ben Affleck
After endless split rumors, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are officially over after two years of marriage.
On Tuesday, Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck in court docs obtained by “Extra.”
According to TMZ, Lopez filed the papers without a lawyer. Jennifer listed the date of separation as April 26. She did not mention a prenup in the papers and a source told the outlet that the two didn’t sign one.
She is also waiving her right to spousal support.
The couple got married in Las Vegas on July 16, 2022.
The date Jennifer chose to file, August 20, is significant because it is the second anniversary of their second and more extravagant wedding celebration in Georgia.
Just weeks ago, Affleck closed escrow on a Pacific Palisades home, fueling more rumors that the couple were headed for divorce.
Ben and Jen recently put their shared home on the market for $68 million. The two also didn’t spend their second wedding anniversary together.
Rumors have swirled about trouble in paradise, hot on the heels of the release of J.Lo’s self-funded film “This Is Me… Now: A Love Story,” in which Ben briefly appears.
In May, Affleck first sparked rumors when he was seen leaving a residence in Brentwood, California, where he has been staying.
To fuel more speculation, J.Lo was also been spotted looking at houses in Los Angeles without him.
She also liked an Instagram post from relationship coach Lenna Marsak.
Marsak captioned it, “You can’t build a relationship with someone who is disconnected from themselves. We can’t expect someone to see us when we can’t even see themselves. Getting in a relationship is the easy part. Nurturing & fostering it is a different story. After all, love is not a feeling, it’s action.”
The post explains why one “cannot build a healthy relationship” with someone who doesn’t have emotional safety or integrity, lacks respect for other people’s time, and has no communication skills.
While they would be spotted together eventually in June, Jennifer and Ben were apart for the summer.
