Jimmy Kimmel Accuses the CIA of Making the JFK Files “Too Boring” on Purpose

Late-night host allegedly jokes that the government deliberately made the documents unreadable to keep the truth hidden.

In yet another bizarre internet rumor, a viral post claims that Jimmy Kimmel has accused the CIA of intentionally making the JFK assassination files “too boring” to prevent the public from digging too deep into the historical mystery. While the claim is entirely unverified—and likely a joke taken out of context—social media is already buzzing with reactions.

The hoax stems from a fake report suggesting that Kimmel, known for his sharp wit and political humor, expressed frustration after attempting to read the recently released JFK assassination documents.

According to the fabricated claim, Kimmel allegedly quipped, *“These files are so boring it’s like the CIA doesn’t want us to read them. Page after page of redacted nonsense—I’d rather read my kids a tax code manual before bed.”*

While no legitimate sources confirm Kimmel actually said this, the rumor quickly gained traction, with some conspiracy theorists using it as proof that the government has been suppressing critical details about John F. Kennedy’s assassination.

As expected, certain corners of the internet took the alleged joke and ran with it. Some users on X (formerly Twitter) and Reddit speculated that Kimmel was onto something, suggesting that the government purposely buried crucial details within mountains of dry, bureaucratic language.

One viral post read: *“Jimmy Kimmel is finally waking up! The government knows people won’t read hundreds of pages of mind-numbing text. That’s how they hide the truth in plain sight.”

Another joked: “Kimmel just exposed the greatest conspiracy of all: the CIA has the world’s most boring writers.”

Despite the online chatter, there is no evidence that Jimmy Kimmel actually made these claims. However, given his history of poking fun at political topics, it’s not hard to imagine him making a joke about government documents being dull.

Kimmel has previously mocked conspiracy theories on his show, often ridiculing public figures who promote misinformation. If anything, he would likely find this hoax amusing rather than a serious accusation against the CIA.

While the idea that the CIA deliberately made the JFK files boring may be entertaining, it remains nothing more than an internet hoax. There is no proof that Kimmel ever said this, and the real JFK assassination documents—while heavily redacted—are public for anyone willing to dive in.

That being said, if Kimmel ever does decide to rant about government paperwork on his show, it wouldn’t be surprising if this viral hoax gave him some inspiration.
