Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney has been absent from the team’s squad in recent weeks, with the star having broken his silence on his social media outburst

Kadarius Toney may have issued a subtle dig the way of his Kansas City Chiefs teammate Patrick Mahomes days before the Super Bowl

Kansas City Chiefs’ star Kadarius Toney, has spoken out about his recent social media activity, whille seeming to aim a subtle dig at teammate Patrick Mahomes.

As the Chiefs gear up for Super Bowl LVIII, Toney’s fitness has been the subject of debate, with the wide receiver missing from recent games. Toney last played for the Chiefs on December 17 against the New England Patriots, meaning he’s missed the team’s last six matches.

Since then, hip and ankle problems, as well as personal commitments, have kept him off the field during the Wild Card round and the AFC Championship Game. Chiefs fans were also left worried after Toney’s recent Instagram Live post, where the injured player issued a bizarre address.

Before the Chiefs’ AFC Championship showdown against the Baltimore Ravens, which eventually saw KC secure their Super Bowl spot, he told his followers that any suggestions that he is injured are wide of the mark. Embarking on a stunning rant, the wide receiver said: “I’m not hurt.”

“On God, not hurt, none of that. What else? I’m in a body cast right now, at this point,” the 25-year-old continued as he appeared to ask for more clarity to be given to fans about his situation, calling on unnamed personnel to ‘go tell ’em what’s really going on’ in an unexpected outburst.

Addressing the remarks made by the Chiefs ace on his social media, NFL Network’s Michael Robinson broached the subject with Toney on Super Bowl LVIII Opening Night. Among the questions asked was whether he sees himself as a ‘No. 1 receiver in this league’, to which he gave a cryptic response.
