Kansas City Chiefs: Rashee Rice Publicly Thanks Patrick Mahomes for Support Through Tumultuous Offseason

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice is one of the best up-and-coming wide receivers in the NFL. As a rookie in 2023, he had 79 receptions for 938 yards and seven touchdowns. Only future Hall of Fame tight end Travis Kelce had more receptions and receiving yards on the team, and no one on the roster had as many touchdown receptions.

Rice proved to the NFL world that he is capable of being a big-game wide receiver as well, catching eight passes for 130 yards and a touchdown in the Wild Card round against the Miami Dolphins. However, he also showed that he has some growth to do as a player after fumbling in the Super Bowl.

Fortunately, the Chiefs still won Super Bowl LVIII despite Rice’s gaff. Unfortunately, the field of play is not the only aspect of Rice’s life in which he needs to experience growth.

Unfortunately, Rice’s offseason this year has not been as stellar as his rookie season. As many fans are aware, the wide receiver was involved in a car accident in Dallas. Rice was reportedly driving 119 miles per hour at the time of the crash.

What is worse, he also left the scene of the accident before police arrived. He turned himself in four days later after a warrant for his arrest was put out.

In addition to the crash, Rice was allegedly involved in an altercation with a security guard at a night club in Dallas. Reports that he was also involved in a shooting during his college days at SMU also surfaced in light of his more recent legal issues.
