Kate Middleton honours Queen Elizabeth with latest move

Published

on

On March 10, 2025, Catherine, Princess of Wales, paid a heartfelt tribute to both Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Diana during the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey. Her choice of attire and accessories subtly honored the legacies of these influential royal figures.

Princess Catherine donned a red Catherine Walker & Co coat dress, a piece she has worn on previous significant occasions, reflecting her commitment to sustainable fashion. She complemented the ensemble with a matching pillbox hat by Gina Foster and red suede pumps. This outfit choice not only showcased her timeless style but also echoed the late Queen Elizabeth II’s penchant for vibrant colors and coordinated ensembles.

Further honoring her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, Catherine wore the Collingwood pearl drop earrings, a favorite of Diana’s. These earrings were gifted to Diana before her wedding to Prince Charles in 1981 and have since become a cherished heirloom.

Additionally, Princess Catherine adorned herself with Queen Elizabeth II’s four-strand diamond-and-pearl choker, a piece that holds deep familial significance. The choker was originally commissioned by the late Queen and was famously worn by Princess Diana during a state visit to the Netherlands in 1982. By choosing these particular pieces, Catherine seamlessly blended the legacies of both the late Queen and Princess Diana, symbolizing continuity and respect within the royal family.

This appearance also marked a poignant moment in Princess Catherine’s public engagements, as she continues her return to royal duties following her remission from cancer. Her presence at the service, alongside Prince William, underscored her resilience and dedication to her role within the royal family.

Through her thoughtful sartorial choices, Princess Catherine not only paid tribute to the enduring legacies of Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Diana but also reaffirmed her commitment to the values and traditions they upheld.
