Kim Kardashian Reveals Why She Looked So Uncomfortable at the Met Gala 2024

If you thought Kim Kardashian looked uncomfortable on the Met Gala 2024 red carpet, you’re not alone. As per usual, Kim Kardashian was the hot topic of conversation at the event thanks to her Maison Margiela couture corset and metallic skirt look, styled with a cashmere shrug worn around her shoulders. While many speculated that the corset was the reason Kardashian wasn’t able to walk easily, she revealed that it was actually her shoes that were causing the issues — at least partly.
For the event, Kardashian wore a pair of heel-less clear Pleaser shoes with a high platform and absolutely zero heels. “This is my shoe,” she shared in a video, holding the footwear in question up to the camera as her team prepped around her.

“It’s clever because if I had a shoe with a heel, the heel would get stuck in the metal skirt. That was our issue of walking, so I’m going to have to put these on,” the SKIMS founder explained. “To wear these, you’re on your tiptoes and balancing the whole time flexing your calf muscles … I think we really need the height on this, so we gotta do what we gotta do.” In the shoes, Kardashian stood nearly six feet tall; she’s nearly eye to eye with her hairstylist Chris Appleton, who shares that he’s six-foot-three.
