LPGA players attend Taylor Swift concert, and everyone, even the LPGA Commissioner, is ready for Swift’s golf era
It should come as no surprise that there are Swifties on the LPGA Tour, because Swifties are everywhere. When you line up Taylor Swift’s Eras Concert Tour dates with the LPGA Tour’s tournament dates, however, there’s been a bit of an issue: Rarely are the two tours in the same place at the same time.
That is, until Singapore.
The LPGA Tour played in Singapore, wrapping up the HSBC Women’s World Championship on March 3rd with Hannah Green winning her fourth LPGA event. Their next tournament, the Blue Bay LPGA in China, starts on March 7th. Taylor Swift is playing each night in Singapore from March 2nd through the 9th. LPGA stars jumped at the chance to get to see her play after the tournament wrapped in Singapore. Danielle Kang, Brooke Henderson and Andrea Lee all posted photos and videos from Swift’s concert. Kang took a video of Swift wielding a golf club during her performance of Blank Space, which forces us to ask the question – When is Taylor Swift going to pick up golf?
LPGA Commissioner Mollie Marcoux Samaan appears ready to help Swift get into the game, by telling The Washington Post that Swift is welcome to come to LPGA events.
“There is nothing wrong with a good Taylor Swift effect,” Marcoux Samaan said to The Washington Post. “Taylor, come join us. Our doors are wide open for you.”
Though Swift didn’t attend the LPGA Tour’s event in Singapore, we’re more than ready for Swift’s golf era to begin.
