Meghan Markle is “desperate” to be friends with Taylor Swift as she bids for a marketing boost, according to Kinsey Schofield.

The royal commentator joined Patrick Christys on GBN America to discuss Harry and Meghan’s decision to cash in on their royal pedigree with a revamped website.

She believes the Duchess is keen to benefit from Swift’s popularity by being seen to hold a personal relationship with the world famous pop star.

Schofield cited Meghan visiting Swift’s concert in Los Angeles and “making sure that People Magazine knew she attended”.

“Meghan is desperate to be Taylor’s friend”, Schofield told GBN America.

“Meghan invited Taylor Swift on her podcast by sitting down and writing her a handwritten letter begging her to be on Archetypes.

“Meghan attended the Taylor Swift concert in Los Angeles, but she made sure that People Magazine knew she attended.

“It was important for Meghan to release to gossip sites here the she was there, she wanted people to know.

“I think she wants to be like Taylor Swift marketing wise. Taylor went from villain to hero and I’m sure Meghan is looking at that transition and thinking, ‘how can I do something similar?’”

Meghan is keeping a keen eye on the 34-year-old and taking tips on how she can burgeon her own popularity, Schofield told Patrick Christys.

Swift was thrust into the limelight once more when she attended the Super Bowl to watch her boyfriend Travis Kelce claim a ring.

Someone paying keen attention would have been the Duchess of Sussex, according to Schofield, who says Meghan will have been considering ‘how do I do that?’

Asked whether Meghan herself would attend the Super Bowl, Schofield was sceptical.

“I don’t think Meghan would go there unless there was some sort of financial arrangement”, she said.

“If she was sitting in a box and promoting a bigger brand, maybe.

“I don’t see Meghan doing something like that.”
