Meghan Markle’s Former Ally Claims She Lied About Not Knowing Prince Harry: ‘Manicured and Very Forced’

Meghan Markle is once again at the center of controversy after a former supporter publicly accused her of being dishonest about her past—specifically regarding her initial meeting with Prince Harry. Comedian Katherine Ryan, who had previously defended the Duchess of Sussex, now claims that Meghan’s account of not knowing Prince Harry before they met was “manicured and very forced.”

Doubts Over Meghan’s Story
Ryan made her remarks on her podcast, Telling Everybody Everything, where she expressed skepticism about the narrative Meghan has presented to the public. The Duchess has long maintained that she had no prior knowledge of Prince Harry before their blind date, but Ryan suggests this claim doesn’t add up.

“She’s too media-savvy not to have done her research,” Ryan said, adding that Meghan’s version of events feels overly curated. The comedian, known for her sharp wit and candid opinions, noted that while she previously supported Meghan, she now questions the authenticity of her statements

Other Critics Speak Out
Ryan’s remarks add to a growing number of voices who have challenged Meghan’s claims about her past. Meghan’s father, Thomas Markle, recently refuted another assertion made by the Duchess in her new Netflix series, With Love, Meghan. She described herself as a “latchkey kid” who often ate TV dinners alone, but Thomas countered that she lived with him full-time from age 11 to 18 and that they dined out regularly.

Meanwhile, royal experts and historians have pointed out inconsistencies in Meghan’s past statements, including her claims of being unaware of royal life before dating Prince Harry. Critics argue that given her Hollywood background and education, it’s unlikely she had no knowledge of the British royal family.

Public Perception and Backlash
Meghan’s Netflix show has been met with mixed reviews, with some viewers enjoying her personal insights while others find her accounts overly polished. Critics argue that she and Prince Harry, who have stepped away from royal duties, continue to capitalize on their royal ties despite their insistence on privacy.

Chef Richard Corrigan, who has worked with the royal family, also criticized Meghan and Harry, suggesting they are a burden to King Charles as he battles cancer. He described With Love, Meghan as “pretentious,” implying that the couple’s media ventures feel more opportunistic than genuine.

What’s Next for Meghan?
Despite the backlash, Netflix has confirmed a second season of With Love, Meghan, indicating strong viewer interest. Whether the Duchess will address these latest allegations remains to be seen, but as scrutiny over her past intensifies, it’s clear that public opinion on Meghan Markle remains deeply divided.

As more former allies, critics, and royal watchers weigh in, the debate over Meghan’s authenticity is unlikely to fade anytime soon.
