Meghan Markle’s former supporter says she lied on Netflix show

In recent developments, Meghan Markle’s new Netflix series, “With Love, Meghan,” has come under scrutiny as former supporters and associates question the authenticity of her narratives. Canadian comedian Katherine Ryan, once a vocal advocate for Markle, expressed skepticism regarding the Duchess’s portrayal of her past and her initial acquaintance with Prince Harry. On her podcast, “Telling Everybody Everything,” Ryan remarked that the series felt “manicured and very forced,” highlighting inconsistencies in Markle’s accounts, particularly concerning her childhood and early relationship with Prince Harry. Ryan also criticized what she perceives as Markle’s attempt to maintain a celebrity image while ostensibly trying to appear humble.

Adding to the controversy, Meghan’s father, Thomas Markle, disputed his daughter’s depiction of her upbringing. In the series, Meghan described herself as a “latchkey kid” who often had TV dinners. Thomas Markle refuted these claims, asserting that Meghan lived with him full-time from age 11 to 18 and that they frequently dined out together. He expressed disappointment over Meghan’s decision to distance herself from the Markle name, stating that his mother, who adored Meghan, would be deeply upset.

The series has also faced criticism from other quarters. Renowned chef Richard Corrigan labeled “With Love, Meghan” as pretentious and indicative of the couple’s Hollywood lifestyle. Corrigan, who has served the royal family multiple times, chastised Meghan and Prince Harry, stating they have become a burden to King Charles, especially as he battles cancer. He suggested that while royal departures are acceptable, capitalizing on cheap television projects is unfavorable.

Despite the backlash and low ratings, Netflix has renewed the show for a second season, citing the significant interest and controversy it generated. Meghan remains optimistic and grateful for the opportunity to continue the series.

These developments have sparked widespread discussions about the accuracy of Meghan Markle’s narratives and the portrayal of her life in the public eye. As the debate continues, viewers and critics alike await further clarifications and responses from the Duchess and her representatives.
