The Australian artist had a tearful reaction, which they shared with their fans.

G Flip is in their Swiftie era.

Earlier this week, the Australian musician dropped a rock cover of Taylor Swift’s hit anthem “Cruel Summer,” earning an abundance of love from fans across the globe. However, G Flip found themselves emotional when fans started pointing out that Swift herself reportedly showed love for the cover online.

“TAYLOR LIKED ON IG,” one follower highlighted to Chrishell Stause’s spouse.

In response, G Flip took to TikTok and shared with their near 400,000 followers, “Thank you so much for liking it and thank you Taylor for liking it. I’m trying not to cry.”

They continued, “It’s really cool. I love your art and thank you so much everyone for getting around this cover.”

As they fought back tears, G Flip added, “I didn’t realize it would get so much love. So, thank you. Oh my god!”

In the caption, the “Be Your Man” artist added, “got a bit emotional cause taylor is an icon and one of the best songwriters of all time.”

While the rocker was blown away by Swift’s support, their significant other, the aforementioned Selling Sunset star, chimed in with, “We don’t talk enough about the fact G wrote the entire string section too🥹🔥.”

We love supportive spouses.

G Flip, who has been a rising star since dropping their first studio album in 2019, has won two prestigious ARIA Music Awards, which celebrates the best in the Australian music scene. Specifically, they took home the Best Video trophy and the Best Australian Live Act for the 2023 ceremony.

And, on Wednesday, Jan. 17, G Flip was named as a nominee in the Outstanding Breakthrough Music Artist category for the 2024 GLAAD Media Awards.

Here’s hoping G Flip and Swift get to meet when the latter is in Australia for the international leg of the Eras Tour.
