Prince William to visit British troops in Estonia

Prince William, the Prince of Wales, is scheduled to visit Estonia from March 20 to 22, 2025, to engage with British troops participating in NATO operations. This visit underscores the United Kingdom’s commitment to its allies and the defense of NATO’s eastern flank.
During his visit, Prince William will meet with military personnel from the Mercian Regiment, of which he serves as Colonel-in-Chief, at the Tapa Army Base. The UK leads a battle group in Estonia, with approximately 900 service members stationed there and in Poland under ‘Operation Cabrit,’ contributing to NATO’s enhanced forward presence in response to regional security concerns.
In addition to his military engagements, Prince William will hold discussions with Estonian President Alar Karis in Tallinn. He will also visit a school established by the Estonian Ministry of Education and Research in May 2022 to support Ukrainian refugees, where he will interact with teachers from Ukraine to understand their experiences and efforts in assisting students to adapt to life in Estonia.
Further, the Prince is set to explore Estonia’s advancements in renewable energy and technology, aligning with his environmental initiatives, including the Earthshot Prize, which aims to promote innovative solutions for environmental challenges.
This visit marks Prince William’s first official trip to Estonia, following a previous visit to British troops in Poland two years prior, reflecting the ongoing commitment of the UK and its royal family to support NATO allies and address current geopolitical challenges.
