Prince William’s latest gesture to make amends with Harry was to no avail

Prince William’s recent efforts to mend his strained relationship with his brother, Prince Harry, appear to have been unsuccessful. In a recent documentary, “Prince William: We Can End Homelessness,” William shared a childhood memory involving Harry and their late mother, Princess Diana. He recounted visits to The Passage, a homelessness charity, with Diana and Harry, highlighting their mother’s influence on their charitable inclinations. This mention was perceived by some as an olive branch towards reconciliation.
Royal expert Hugo Vickers interpreted William’s acknowledgment of Harry in the documentary as a potential step towards healing their rift. However, Vickers also noted that William’s feelings of hurt remain significant, particularly due to past criticisms from Harry, including remarks about William’s wife, Catherine.
Despite these gestures, reports suggest that the relationship between the brothers remains strained. A source close to William indicated that he has “no interest right now in reaching out to Harry and Meghan,” considering some of Harry’s past comments as “unforgivable.” The source emphasized that William is currently focused on his immediate family and royal duties, leaving little room for reconciliation efforts.
The ongoing tension between the brothers has been a subject of public interest, especially following Harry’s memoir, “Spare,” which detailed personal grievances and family disputes. While William’s recent gestures indicate a willingness to acknowledge shared experiences, the path to reconciliation appears uncertain, with deep-seated issues yet to be resolved.
