Report News: Travis Kelce give Taylor Swift after super bowl loss
Two and a half weeks after the Kansas City Chiefs’ season ended in a lopsided 40-22 Super Bowl LIX loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, Travis Kelce is still processing the defeat.
He could not do it without a little help from Taylor Swift.
“And how the Eagles broke my heart,” the Kansas City tight end pined on Wednesday’s episode of “New Heights,” his podcast with his brother, Eagles legend Jason Kelce.
Kelce only managed four catches for 39 yards against Philadelphia in New Orleans, the worst output of his five Super Bowl appearances. It extinguished the Chiefs’ hope of becoming the first team to win three straight Super Bowl titles and cast doubt over whether or not the 35-year-old would retire this offseason
On Tuesday, Kansas City general manager Brett Veach shared his conviction that Kelce will return for his 13th NFL season in 2025 — which Swift’s fans recognized as a fitting homage to the singer’s “lucky” number.
The latest episode of “New Heights,” which featured guest stars Matthew and Brady Tkachuk, revealed a more tangible way that the “1989” artist motivated her boyfriend Kelce in the wake of the Chiefs’ painful Super Bowl defeat.
“The only way you can find yourself in the light is to find yourself in the dark first,” Travis said to Jason, recounting his mood after the Super Bowl.
“I listen to music that is very telling of my mood,” he continued. “I just listen to Taylor’s music. She has something for everything.”
It comes as little surprise that Kelce finds personal inspiration in Swift’s music. In May 2024, he all but confirmed that songs like “So High School” and “The Alchemy” from Swift’s latest album “The Tortured Poets Department” were inspired by him and their relationship.
