Taylor Swift’s recent visit to a Sydney animal park has reportedly sparked a friendly rivalry between two of the city’s zoos. The pop star, accompanied by her boyfriend Travis Kelce, visited Sydney Zoo, opting for a unique wildlife experience over the more traditional Taronga Zoo.
Swift’s decision to visit Sydney Zootwice in two days, including taking Kelce there upon his arrival in Sydney, has raised eyebrows and led to a statement from Taronga Zoo.
The competing park expressed appreciation for Swift’s choice while also stressing the importance of zoos in educational efforts. “Zoos play an important role in educating guests of all ages and backgrounds about wildlife and inspiring future generations to act for the wild,” said the park.
The Sydney Zoo, for its part, made the best of the famed couple’s visit highlighting its unique offerings, including being the only zoo in Sydney with a rhino and showcasing the first hyena cub born in the city.

Despite the rivalry, the songstress and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end enjoyed a romantic outing at the zoo, with Kelce wrapping his arms around Swift as they explored the park. The couple’s visit added to the excitement of Swift’s time in Australia, where she performed as part of her Eras Tour.
Swift’s tour has been a massive success in Australia, with record-breaking attendance numbers at her shows in Melbourne and Sydney. The pop star’s ability to draw huge crowds and create buzz extends beyond her music, as evidenced by the attention her zoo visits have garnered.
Kelce, who recently won the Super Bowl with the Chiefs, attended one of Swift’s Sydney concerts before returning to the United States. Meanwhile, Swift continues to captivate audiences with her tour, showcasing her talent and drawing power on a global scale.
