Taylor Swift grants wish of young fan battling cancer at Sydney Eras Tour; Watch

With every tour and public appearance, Taylor Swift—also referred to as the “queen of hearts”—continues to live up to her title. At her Australian Sydney Eras tour concert, the 14-time Grammy winner won hearts yet again. She gave the coveted “22” hat to 9-year-old Australian resident and swiftie Scarlett Oliver at the concert in a sweet gesture. Her stepmother had posted Scarlett Oliver’s story on social media.

“Scarlett is a 9-year-old from Perth, and she was diagnosed in October last year with a high grade glioma — this is a very aggressive brain cancer with no cure,” Oliver’s mother Natalie disclosed earlier on Swift’s Facebook fan page.

The message included further information on the young patient’s condition. “The prognosis given to us was 12-18 months from diagnosis. She has been an absolute warrior through surgeries, radiation, and other treatments.” The statement was posted by a fan on X and appears to be a screenshot of the Facebook version.

Oliver was hoping to meet Swift, according to the post. Her wish was first granted by the Make-a-Wish Foundation, but they later told her it couldn’t be fulfilled. With determination, Scarlett and her stepmother took to social media, where they posted a cute picture of the young girl carrying a placard that said, “Taylor, can I have the ’22’ hat? Please.”

Last night at Accor Stadium, mother and daughter came together, and Natalie asked Swifties to inform Taylor about her daughter. The fan base reacted warmly as usual. Scarlett’s family appears to have been contacted by someone on Swift’s team as the young girl later got the opportunity to meet Swift on stage and receive the coveted “22” hat.

A fan-shared video from the Sydney crowd shows Taylor kneeling down to greet the young girl and kissing her hands before putting the hat on her head. The girl was overjoyed when she received the present.
