Taylor Swift in ‘gross’ controversy as Travis Kelce captured in ugly Super Bowl incident
Not everyone took kindly to the pop star being in attendance as the Kansas City Chiefs battled the San Francisco 49ers.
Taylor Swift’s appearance at the Super Bowl on Sunday (Monday AEDT) didn’t go down well with everyone in the crowd, with the mega-star loudly booed when shown on the big screen at Allegiant Stadium. Swift made a mad dash from the Tokyo Dome to Las Vegas to cheer on her man – Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce.
Kelce splashed out a reported $1 million for a private suite for Swift and some of her entourage, which included rapper Ice Spice and actress Blake Lively. Swift is one the most popular celebrities in the world right now, and some have suggested she could run for president and win.
But her attendance at the Super Bowl drew a mixed reaction on Sunday. The pop star was shown on the big screen singing along to Post Malone’s performance of ‘America the Beautiful’, but it sparked loud boos from the crowd – presumably from 49ers fans.
Viewers took to social media to condemn the unsavoury behaviour, with many unhappy that Swift would be booed simply for supporting her boyfriend. Others described it as “gross” and “shameful” that the booing overshadowed Post Malone’s performance.
