The Village at Unity welcomes families to celebrate Taylor Swift
Greece, N.Y. – Residents at The Village at Unity celebrated Taylor Swift in style Monday, with an event for all generations.
The program invited grandkids and great grandkids out to the campus to spend time with loved ones and make fun memories.
Sales manager Courtney Giehl says the event gave children a chance to share their favorite songs and moments from the musician with their grandparents.
“It is really important for folks, as they age, to keep active and keep their minds active,” said Giehl. “So not only learning about new things, but experiencing things that our younger generations are experiencing and being able to lend their information and their thoughts.”
The event had snacks, crafts and a screening of Swift’s new concert movie “The Eras Tour.”
One resident, Carol Coons, says the Village at Unity hosts many events similar to this one.
“It makes me feel good, this is a wonderful place to be with a lot of good staff who come up with interesting things for kids and families, and I’m glad to be here,” she said.
Giehl explained the creative way they came up with the event.
“We were looking for a fun thing to do for our residents and also for their grandkids and great grandkids, and what’s better than Taylor Swift and a little glitter?”
