Travis Kelce was just trying to “spread the love” when he did Taylor Swift’s signature heart-hand pose at the Kansas City Chiefs’ playoff game against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
“The celebration went wild by you with the little heart,” the tight end’s brother, Jason Kelce, said on Wednesday’s episode of their “New Heights” podcast, referring to Travis’ headline-making affectionate gesture.

“Yeah, man, had to spread the love, baby. You always gotta spread that love, baby,” the two-time Super Bowl champion, 34, replied.
Swift, also 34, famously makes the same heart shape with her hands for fans during her performances, but Travis clarified that his sweet signal was not directed toward his pop star girlfriend.
The athlete pointed out that there was “a lot of hate” when he arrived at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, NY, for the game. Bills fans also booed Swift when she showed up.
“Had to spread the love, baby. You always gotta spread that love, baby,” Travis said on his “New Heights” podcast.
“Understandably. It’s a football game. The Bills, coming into their house, they want to make it rowdy,” Travis acknowledged before firing back, “Did it get a little disrespectful? One thousand percent.”
Travis added that the opposing team got “a little extra” but declined to keep talking about it because “that’s what they want.”
“I’m not going to relay it, but some things were said about the family. Some pretty inappropriate things were said about Pat Mahomes,” he said of the Chiefs’ quarterback. “It was pretty wack.”
Travis admitted he understood the smack talk considering he was coming into a “hostile environment” but nonetheless wanted to spread the love.
“I just wanted to make sure [they] knew it wasn’t mutual,” he said. “I don’t hate you guys like you hate us. It’s all love, baby.”

The “Cruel Summer” singer was seen bonding with Travis’ sister-in-law during the game as well as Patrick’s wife, Brittany Mahomes.
Swift — wearing an $1,800 varsity jacket and a red beanie — was also seen encouraging Jason to jump into the crowd after he stripped off his shirt in the chilly weather while celebrating his brother’s touchdown.
