Travis Kelce jokes he looked like ‘a black disco ball’ in his Super Bowl outfit as he claims he ‘didn’t have to really think’ about the custom sequined suit – despite planning it BEFORE the Chiefs booked their place

Travis Kelce claimed he didn’t have to put much thought into his Super Bowl game-day outfit before rocking up to Allegiant Stadium looking like a ‘disco ball’ on Sunday.
Travis, 34, known for his flair for game-day fashion, stepped up his game for the Super Bowl, turning heads in a custom black, sequined suit designed by Amiri, matching black t-shirt, sunglasses and chains.
The tight end had planned his outfit for the big game before the Chiefs had even booked their ticket to Las Vegas, designer Mike Amiri had revealed to Vogue on Super Bowl Sunday.
Despite Travis’s extreme preparation for his game-day fit, he has insisted that he didn’t put that much thought into it, instead sitting back and letting Amiri work his magic.
‘When it came down to doing the Super Bowl fit, I really didn’t want to put much thought into it,’ he told his brother Jason on the first episode of their New Heights podcast following the Kansas City Chiefs’ win over the San Francisco 49ers.

Travis went on to celebrate the Chiefs’ 25-22 victory with popstar girlfriend Taylor Swift
‘I’d met Mike in Vegas before in the summer and it made all the sense in the world. Last year, I did Louis Vuitton but it was an American designer and I wanted to keep it to the States, so I went Mike Amiri.
‘He’s one of the best out there right now. I got him all the sizes and he sorted me out, I didn’t have to really think about what I was going to wear until the actual game came up and it fit like a glove baby.’
The Chiefs only beat the Baltimore Ravens on January 28 to confirm their place in Sunday’s game in Vegas and Vogue said the outfit request was ‘a telling indication of Travis’s confidence’ that his team would make the ultimate game.
Travis had two members of Amiri’s team fly to Vegas this week for a formal fitting and, Vogue added, the outfit was initially designed in cream but changed to black on Travis’s request.
And Travis strutted into Allegiant Stadium looking like a ‘disco ball’ ahead of the Chiefs 25-22 victory over the San Francisco 49ers. Although, Jason, the Philadelphia Eagles’ star center, likened his brother’s outfit to a different sparkly item.
‘I got a chance to touch it afterwards,’ Jason said of the jacket. ‘It’s got the sequins on the outside so it felt a lot like some of the Mummer suits I’ve touched before. Not as colorful but a little similar.
‘The lining was really high-end. It wasn’t as stiff as a lot of sequined stuff feels like. It felt like a worn-in leather jacket.’
‘He had me looking like a black disco ball walking into the disco in Vegas, baby, Travis chimed in, before Jason added, ‘It’s like a snazzed up Johnny Cash.’

The outfit the Chiefs star wore was a world away from Jason, who wore red and yellow dungarees to cheer his brother on in the game.
He took a seat in the luxury suite at Allegiant Stadium alongside his younger brother’s girlfriend Taylor Swift. Travis reportedly paid around $1million for a suite to host both his and her family.
Jason wasn’t the only one who got to touch the sequined jacket as Travis’s popstar girlfriend was captured with it draped over shoulders as the couple arrived at the Chiefs afterparty as XS nightclub at Wynn Las Vegas.
Earlier in the NFL season, Travis said he takes at least three hours to pick the outfit he will eventually wear to each Chiefs game.
It really just goes down to the wire,’ he said to Wall Street Journal. ‘I kind of enjoy the creative process of the panic to just throw something together.
‘Obviously, not every look is for everybody. I’m not going to be offended if somebody says I look like a clown if I got a fun hat on and some wacky jeans. It is what it is, I’m gonna have fun with it.
‘For the most part, I do it to put a smile on somebody’s face.’
