Travis Kelce reckons ‘cranky’ NFL fans are finally accepting his romance with Taylor Swift
Travis Kelce is convinced “cranky” NFL fans are finally coming around to his romance with Taylor Swift.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 34, has been dating the singer, also 34, since last summer and has faced accusations their relationship was “fake”, but has now said he thinks some of their critics are starting to accept it’s genuine.
He told ‘The Pat McAfee Show’ on Wednesday (31.01.24): “At the beginning a lot of football people just thought it was fake.
“Now I think people can’t help but realize that Travis is phenomenal at football – this guy is everything that we like in a football player – and he is in love!”
Travis went on about the concept of love: “It’s a beautiful thing, isn’t it?”
He also said he and Taylor “are just two people in a relationship supporting each other and having fun with it”.
The pair has faced backlash from football fans over the last couple of months due to the amount of screen time Taylor gets when she turns up to support Travis at his games.
Despite the criticism, analysis shows ‘Bad Blood’ singer Taylor has averaged less than 25 seconds on air per game.
Travis also said despite the intense scrutiny of their romance, he and his singer partner will keep enjoying their lives as normally as possible.
He added: “We just have fun with it and we enjoy every single bit of it. I love it when Taylor comes and supports me and enjoys the game with the fam and friends. It’s been nothing but a wonderful year.”
Taylor has turned up at 12 of Travis’ game this season, often going with his parents Donna and Ed Kelceand his closest childhood friends.
She also recently met the two-time Super Bowl champion’s older brother Jason, 36, and his wife Kylie.
A source has told Page Six the group is expected to get together again on 11 February to cheer on the Chiefs as they face off against the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl, despite Swift having a concert across the globe the night before.
The insider added she is intent on jetting back to the US from her gig in Tokyo to be with Travis around Valentine’s Day and after his Super Bowl match.
