Travis Kelce Reveals Advice to Chiefs on 2025 Roster Changes

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has offered his perspective on the team’s approach to roster changes for the 2025 NFL season. In a recent episode of the “New Heights” podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother Jason Kelce, Travis emphasized the necessity of acquiring new talent while maintaining the team’s chemistry.

Reflecting on the Chiefs’ 15-2 record last season and their subsequent 40-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX, Kelce acknowledged the need for adjustments. He stated, “We’ve gotta get some pieces… We’ve got a lot of guys we rely on… that have helped us win Super Bowls that are in contract negotiations.”

The Chiefs have already initiated roster moves this offseason, notably using the franchise tag on offensive lineman Trey Smith and trading Pro Bowl guard Joe Thuney to the Chicago Bears. These decisions highlight the organization’s proactive stance in reshaping the team.

Despite these changes, Kelce expressed confidence in the Chiefs’ front office, led by General Manager Brett Veach. He trusts their ability to bring in players who not only possess the necessary skills and athleticism but also fit seamlessly into the team’s culture. Kelce remarked, “I know I’ve always trusted Brett Veach and the front office and the coaches to bring in the right guys… that can add to the chemistry.”

As Kelce prepares for his 13th NFL season, he remains committed to contributing at a high level. He expressed a desire to improve upon his performance from last year, stating, “I still feel like I can play at a high level and possibly at a higher level than I did last year.”

With Kelce’s leadership and the front office’s strategic decisions, the Chiefs aim to address key areas and build a roster capable of returning to the Super Bowl stage.
