White House congratulates ‘all the Swifties out there’ following Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl win amid hopes Taylor will endorse Joe Biden

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre congratulated ‘all the Swifties out there’ after the Kansas City Chief’s Super Bowl win but she couldn’t say if Taylor Swift would join boyfriend Travis Kelce when the team gets honored by President Joe Biden.

‘The President was able to catch some of the game and, on his behalf, I want to extend a big congratulations to the Kansas City Chiefs on their third Super Bowl win in just five seasons. And also congratulations to all the Swifties out there,’ she said Monday at her daily press briefing.

Kansas City’s come-from-behind win came amid an online conspiracy theory the Chiefs would win a ‘rigged’ Super Bowl in order to help Biden win a second term in the White House.

The last time the Chiefs played the San Francisco 49ers was in 2020 and, that same year, Biden defeated Donald Trump in the presidential election. The two men are on track for a 2024 rematch.

The winning team traditionally gets an invitation to the White House. Jean-Pierre couldn’t say when the Chiefs would arrive or if Swift would be with them, noting it is up to the team on who to invite.

‘That’s going to be up to the to the Chiefs and, obviously, their decision to figure out who’s going to come with them when they come. And as you know, it’s a White House tradition. I can’t I can’t speak to attendance and who will be here, but we look forward to having them here,’ she said.

She said she didn’t know if the players could bring a plus one.

Swift endorsed Biden in 2020 and she is said to be a top target for the campaign to have on their side in this year’s general election.

The ‘Shake it Off’ singer traveled halfway around the world from her tour stop in Japan to Las Vegas to cheer on her boyfriend’s team. Afterward, she took to the field to give him a congratulatory kiss. The couple also joined players at a Vegas club to dance the night away.

After the game, which Kansas won 25-22 in overtime, Kelce said it’s on to the next feat.

‘I´m going to go ahead and enjoy this and everything that just happened,’ he said. ‘This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that I´ve been able to go through three times now. It gets sweeter and sweeter every time.

‘You know the goal has always been to get three. But we couldn´t get here without getting that two, and having that target on our back all year.’

Neither has commented on the many online conspiracies out there about them.

But Biden referred to it on social media.

The president’s personal account deadpanned it on X immediately after the Super Bowl’s game-winning catch, noting: ‘Just like we drew it up’ over an image of ‘Dark Brandon’ – a meme featuring Biden with lasers for eyes.

Biden also referred to it in his inaugural post on Tik-Tok. His campaign announced Sunday night their decision to join TikTok, despite the president’s national security concerns about the Chinese social media app.

‘I’d get in trouble if I told you,’ Biden joked in the video when asked if the conspiracy was true.

He also refused to pick between Kansas City and San Francisco, noting he was an Eagles fan by marriage as wife Jill Biden is a ‘Philly girl.’

And when asked to choose between NFL brothers Travis Kelce or Jason Kelce, Biden replied, ‘Mama Kelce, I understand she makes great chocolate chip cookies.’

TikTok has 170 million U.S. users but few high-level American politicians.

Biden’s decision to have a campaign account illustrates his team’s desperation to reach young voters even though the federal government has warned that TikTok’s parent company ByteDance has the ability to share data with the Chinese government.

Concerns about the app prompted Biden to ban it on devices used by the federal government in December 2022.

Swift has been subject of other conspiracy theories involving her relationship with Kelce, including the unsubstantiated rumor they are ‘fake dating’ to increase the NFL ratings by getting the pop star’s millions of fans to tune in.

TV cameras regularly pan to Swift when she attends Chief games but, as regular football viewers know, the action on the field regularly slows and it’s normal for cameras to show the crowd, including when one of the most famous women in the world is in it.

The singer told Time magazine her relationship with the football star began in July when he put her on his podcast.

‘This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell … We started hanging out right after that,’ Swift said of a July 26 episode of Kelce’s New Heights podcast.

‘So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other. By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date,’ she noted.

Swift has won the ire of Republicans for her backing of Democratic candidates: Biden in 2020 and Democratic Senate candidates in Tennessee.

And Kelce won the ire of conservatives and anit-vaxxers for promoting Pfizer’s Covid vaccine.
