CELEBRITY
Will Taylor Swift attend the Bills vs. the Chiefs Divisional game next week?
The Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills know each other’s moves all too well. These two AFC heavyweights will meet each other at Highmark Stadium on Sunday, where pop icon Taylor Swift could grace football fans with her presence once more.
Swift, who is currently dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, religiously attends her boyfriend’s games. So it won’t be surprising to see her at Orchard Park for the AFC Divisional Round.
The Chiefs booked their place on Sunday after they dismantled the Miami Dolphins 26-7 at home. While some might argue the weather played a massive part in the win, according to Tyreek Hill, a former Chief, and a current Dolphins wide receiver, Miami was just not good enough to win on the day.
Despite the extreme conditions in Kansas, Swift arrived at Arrowhead wearing a customized Kelce jacket. She celebrated the win by grooving with the crowd inside the stadium.
The Bills, on the other hand, played against the 7th-seeded Pittsburgh Steelers. Only once before a team has won from the 7th position in the playoffs. And it stayed that way as Josh Allen led the team to a 31-17 win, in which he scored a 52-yard rushing touchdown.
What is the Kansas City Chiefs win record when Taylor Swift is in attendance?
The 34-year-old 12-time Grammy winner’s first appearance in a Chiefs game came during a Week 3 win over the Chicago Bears. Since then, Swift has attended 10 (7 home games and 3 away games) games to cheer for Kelce.
The Chiefs won seven of them while losing only once at home in Arrowhead. That defeat came on Christmas Day against their AFC West rivals, the Las Vegas Raiders, who recorded a surprise 20-14 win. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw a rare pick 6, which proved costly.
But it’s another loss that Mahomes would want to take revenge for in the divisional round. In week 14, the Chiefs traveled to Buffalo, played, and lost 17-20 against the Bills. That defeat almost knocked the Super Bowl winners out of playoff contention at one point. Fortunately, they managed to secure post-season football and set up a rematch.
This will be the first time in Mahomes’ career that the Chiefs have an away playoff game. He has yet to lose against Allen in the postseason, but being away from home and the early season loss may play a part in the grand scheme of things. One thing that fans can count on is that Taylor Swift could be in attendance for this pivotal matchup.
