Over in the US, the American Gaming Association is predicting a record 68 million to wager a whopping USD$23.1 billion (AUD $44.67 billion) on Super Bowl LVIII. That’s roughly 1 in 4 American bettors.

It’s a staggering number once your realise that since 2018, Americans have bet a total of USD$300 billion (AUD $579 billion) on the Super Bowl, the most heavily bet single game in the US. And now, it’s in Vegas!

“The thrill of the game and the passion of the fans are what make sports so rewarding and fun,” said current Fox Sports Big Noon Kickoff host Mark Ingram II. According to American bettors, the outcome of the game is split 47 per cent to Kansas City Chiefs and 44 per cent to San Francisco 49ers.

According to ESPN, “the first of what’s expected to be several million-dollar Super Bowl bets was reported Jan. 30 by Caesars Sportsbook. The bet: USD$1 million (AUD $1.93 million) on the 49ers money line (-120).”
