Travis Kelce’s relationship with Taylor Swift is NEVER discussed in the Chiefs locker room – while the tight end will NOT retire this season, and neither will Andy Reid, says GM Brett Veach
Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift have dominated the build up to the Super Bowl
Chiefs GM Brett Veach rejected talk of the team losing key men to retirement
Travis Kelce’s relationship with Taylor Swift ‘never gets brought up’ in the Chiefs locker room, according to Kansas City GM Brett Veach, who has also quashed rumors of the tight end or coach Andy Reid retiring.
Speaking to Audacy’s 610 Sports Radio ahead of the Super Bowl on Sunday against San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas, Veach discussed Kelce’s rise to global fame since going public with Swift back in September.
‘If you didn’t go online, you would have no idea that he’s in a relationship with Taylor Swift,’ he said. ‘Doesn’t talk about it, players don’t talk about it.
‘You’d think you’d hear the songs at practice and all the guys getting on him, this and that, but there’s such a high amount of respect for each other in this locker room.
‘Honestly, after the first week or two, it never gets brought up, it never gets mentioned.

Chiefs GM Brett Veach also dismissed claims that Kelce or Andy Reid could retire soon
Veach says he would be ‘more shocked than anybody’ if Reid, 65, retired soon
‘The only time that we realize it is when we’re looking at our phones during the TV timeout and CBS is zooming in on Taylor, you’re reminded that they’re together. But Travis is a straight pro and the guys treat him like that.’
As for the possibility of Kelce or his coach departing. Veach had good news for Chiefs fans.
‘That is not something that I’ve heard directly,’ Veach said. ‘I don’t buy one bit of that, for what it’s worth.
‘Maybe I don’t know anything, but I would be shocked more than anybody – and I talk to coach every day.’
The 65-year-old Reid has repeatedly been linked with retirement since the Chiefs made the playoffs – with Bill Belichick among the candidates linked with taking over in Kansas City.
Kelce, meanwhile, doesn’t appear ready to step away from football just yet but did hint that his days were numbered in an interview last year with the Wall Street Journal.
‘More than anyone could ever imagine,’ Kelce answered when asked if he thinks about retiring.
‘That’s the only thing I’ve never really been open about. The discomfort. The pain. The lingering injuries – the 10 surgeries I’ve had that I still feel every single surgery to this day.’
